Temporary Warehouse Space Needed

November-December

Each year, LAAC assembles, stages and distributes hundreds of bicycles for our Christmas Wish Program.  The donated space we used the past few years is no longer available, so we need a new location to assemble and store these bicycles.  We only need this space for a few weeks as we prepare for our Christmas party in December.

  • Needed mid-November to mid-December (approximately 3 weeks)

  • Must be secure

  • Minimum 2000 sq ft

  • Evening and weekend access required

  • In Lodi or close by

If you have a space, or know someone who does, please contact us at 209-333-1056 or lodiadoptachild@gmail.com.

We Love Volunteers

Volunteers (500 x 100 px).png

Once again, we’ll be looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of acquiring and distributing gifts for 800+ children in need. Please let us know if you’d be willing to buy, sort, assemble, box, wrap, organize and distribute all those gifts. We’ll start in mid-October, though most of the work will be between mid-November and mid-December. You can sign up now, letting us know what tasks you’re willing and able to help with. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) translators are particularly helpful.

We will contact those registered as we develop our schedule, starting in October.

Tomas and the Library Lady

TLL 1.jpg

This bi-lingual play tells the the boyhood story of Tomás Rivera and how he befriended a librarian in Iowa who encouraged him to read. Tomás, the child of migrant farm workers, became a writer, a professor, and a national education leader. He ultimately rose to become the Chancellor at the University of California, Riverside, and the campus library now bears his name. The play includes a cast of three with puppets and projections that create a magical journey of discovery. Ages 5+
