A Heartfelt Farewell and a Warm Welcome

As we begin a new chapter at Lodi Adopt-A-Child, we extend our deepest gratitude to our outgoing President, Craig Troxclair, for his remarkable leadership and service. Alongside his wife, Liz, Craig helped guide our organization through several important years, including the planning and execution of our cherished Christmas Wish Program. Their commitment, energy, and compassion have made a lasting difference in the lives of local children—and we are sincerely thankful.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome our new President, Rick Freedman, whose passion for community service and thoughtful leadership will help carry LAAC’s mission forward.
A retired marketing executive from the high-tech industry, Rick moved to Lodi five years ago with his wife to be near her family. Since then, he’s become an active member of the community, volunteering with Meals-on-Wheels, serving on the board of Fuse Theatre (a nonprofit focused on social justice), and coordinating the Fairy Yardmothers, a group that provides free yard maintenance for those unable to do it themselves.
“I have been fortunate during my life and wanted to give back,” Rick shared. “Lodi Adopt-A-Child’s mission to support children in our community is an ideal fit for that.”
In his first year as president, Rick is focused on ensuring a smooth Christmas Wish Program and preserving the strong legacy of LAAC’s work. “We've added quite a few new people to the organization in the past few years,” he noted. “My top priority is a seamless transition while building toward the future.”
That future includes developing a strategic plan and exploring ways to expand LAAC’s support for children beyond the holidays—with programs that enrich young lives through sports, classes, theater, music, and more.
A key part of that plan is growing the organization’s volunteer base and community engagement. “I think there are a lot of people in Lodi who would love to get involved—we just need to show them how and when,” Rick said.
Please join us in thanking Craig and Liz Troxclair for their incredible service, and in warmly welcoming Rick Freedman as he steps into his new role. With continued community support, we’re excited for all that lies ahead.
