How to "Opt-in"
to receive text messages
Much of what we do is dependent on when gifts are returned to us, so we frequently have to adapt our schedules. We use text messages to alert volunteers to changes of what and when we need help.
When you register on our volunteer management system you can "opt-in" to receive text messages. If you did this and confirmed your acceptance via text, then you're all set to receive messages from us. No further action is required.
If not, you can add this to your profile as follows:

Use the email address and password when you registered

Click on “Password Reset” if you forgot your password

Click on the link on the bottom of the screen if you haven’t already registered

Click on the account icon on the top-right corner

Then, select: Account

Scroll down to “Text Messaging”

Complete this section, including your cell phone number

You can also specify when we send you messages, so you won’t receive automated messages during inconvenient hours.

Accept the terms & conditions

Volgistics (Vicnet) will send you a text confirming that you Opt-In for messaging.

You must reply with “Yes” to confirm.

If you are doing this on your phone, it will wait for you to reply to their text before continuing.

Further down on this same screen, you can enter your message preferences:

Schedule reminders – we will send out a reminder 1 day before each shift you’ve signed up for. We can send them via email or text [or no reminders]

Requests for volunteers – we may send out urgent requests for help when we have urgent need for more volunteers. We can send those to you via email, email-AND-text or choose not to receive these messages. Typically, we only send those during our busiest times when we’re in “crunch mode”.
